RECURRING CLASSES

The Brain & Pain ~ 3-Hour Live Online Workshop

Learn about the physiology of the brain and its intricate and predictable network, pain persistence and perpetuation, and the possibility to move beyond our limited thought forms into spaces beyond “the network.”

In this 3-hour workshop we will explore the complex connections within the neurological system to help better understand how to tend to our own and our client’s experience of pain.

Students will learn:
  • How the brain receives, processes, retrieves, stores, and interprets pain.
  • How the Central Nervous System functions and how it's relevant to understanding pain perception.
  • What reflexology is, how it works, and how it is an excellent "interrupter" of pain.
  • The reflex points, areas, and techniques to address pain.
  • Anatomy and physiology of the brain, including lobes, cortices, etc.
  • The emotional component and how self-meditative states and a metaphysical approach may induce a shift in pain.

This reflexology master class will be live/online via Zoom and provides a certificate indicating 3 ARCB CEs.

“Trauma is not in the event, but in the nervous system.” ~ Peter Levine

As reflexology therapists, we have a unique opportunity to directly connect with the nervous system of our clients—the very system that was and is affected by trauma and addiction.
Chantel’s ½ day online workshop on Reflexology for Trauma and Addiction is a practitioner’s guide to better serving our clients by more deeply understanding ourselves.
This workshop is divided into 5 segments.
  • A No-Mind Approach to Wellness (a guide for releasing the diagnosis in sessions)
  • A Compassionate Intake Process (C.I.P.) to assess and address the emotional underbelly of the client’s discomfort &/or dis-ease
  • Practitioner Health (Exercises for Self-Inquiry and Healing)
  • The Neurochemistry of Trauma and Addiction
  • Reflexology Guides (formerly referred to as protocols)
Students will learn:
  • Brain Mapping (one of four approaches to addressing the areas of the brain affected by trauma and addiction;
  • The 12 Archetypes of the Wellness Practitioner;
  • How to create a supportive and safe environment for those struggling with trauma and/or addiction;
  • How to identify arousal states in self and clients;
  • What survival adaptations are and how they manifest themselves as triggers in present day scenarios between clients and practitioners; and
  • Chantel’s additional reflexology and relaxation techniques, including heart holds, treading, tilting, sun bursting, and stirring the soup!

This class provides 3 ARCB CEs
To receive this certificate, answer the following two questions and return them to Chantel HERE:
1. What are three things you’ll take away from this webinar?
2. What is at least one thing you learned that you’ll incorporate either for your clients or for self-care?

3.5 HR $125/$150

In this 90-minute online class, students will identify which archetypes they most relate to and why. Being aware of ourselves and the, often hidden, characteristics at play when we are with clients and others can help to liberate ourselves from behaviors that neither serve us or others. We will also discuss the more conventional client/practitioner relationships and the sometimes subconscious dynamics and ways we engage with our clients. These are informative and enlightening for everyone--not just practitioners. Who am I in relation to self and others?

Students will learn the qualities inherent in each archetype. The tendencies, drawbacks, and benefits of each will be explored. Some of the archetypes we will learn include, the Healer, the Activist, the Witness, and the Mirror. We will evaluate each one; holding it up against our experience of ourselves in and outside of our jobs, and in our personal and professional relationships.
